Could someone do a calibration for the new Star Trek movie? I really enjoyed the original series, and am interested in seeing the new one.

Thanks,
Jeff

hello..

does anybody know the film "adams apples"?

everytime i watch this one my heart can't stop laughing.. i recommend it warmly.. when i calibrated the film on my own i was suprised anyway.. even or because i like this film very much it calibrated higher than i thought.. i contemplated the plot and the theme..probably there are some points that are in line with the result.. but to get versant with the moc i like to request a more reliable calibration..

deeply grateful,
robin..

3 movies from director, Deepa Mehta:

I have not yet seen 'Fire' (going to watch it tonight though)...but I highly reccommend seeing 'Water', as it is one of the most beautifully filmed movies I've ever seen.

I've watched 'Water' on this 'recommendation' a while ago and, I think, it's a very well made movie.

I'd really enjoy a calibration of the movie, "Avatar". I don't feel I'm very clear enough to do one myself for it. I'd like to see the movie, although my gut says it probably isn't integrous.

Thanks,
Jeff

seems like its much easier to find high calibrating books then movies. deep blue was epic. the colour purple was beautiful but i think the graphic violence brought its LOC down and chariots of fire are the only ones i can find that are profound. exept a few classics like lion king forest gump ect. keep an eye out for any gems I'm havin a film night. :)

A few movies I've watched:

World's fastest indian (2005) - 495
Groundhog Day (1993) - 320
Butterfly Kiss (1995) - 35

World's Fastest Indian is about a humble and kind man who sets a new world record.

Groundhog Day is about a guy who repeats the same day again and again until he becomes a better and more thoughtful person.

Butterfly Kiss is about a psychotic mass murderer who doesn't seem the full quid. She has a bizarre obsession with the name Judith (If I remember correctly) and the Bible. She ironically seems to despise and even hate God (i.e. She says something like "I kill innocent people and God doesn't even care enough about me to punish me"). She commits suicide in the end as part of a sex ritual.

Butterfly Kiss is a fairly independent kind of film and not many people know about it. Where as World's Fastest Indian and Groundhog Day are more well known.

An interesting movie I saw a few years ago was K-PAX

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-PAX_(film)

I read greymagus' post on a movie called 'Being There', which sounds really interesting and it reminded me of K-PAX.

The main character claims to be an other worldly being and has a high 500s kind of Charisma to him. Most the other characters are drawn to him and inspired by him in a way that defies social context.

Highly recommend seeing it.
